If you’re not familiar with the many wonders of a Farfetch sale, allow me to fill you in. As you may know, Farfetch sells items from boutiques and department stores all over the world, and your purchase will typically arrive at your doorstep in approximately two to three days. (It’s a small miracle that you can order something from a boutique in Italy and feasibly be wearing it in 48 hours. Thank you for that, Farfetch.)
In case you were wondering where I’m going with this, I have a reason for bestowing so much praise on Farfetch. It’s having a major summer sale right now, which means that thousands of designer items are marked down by as much as 50%. (And the sale is running throughout the month, so there’s plenty of time to shop.) All of your favorite designer brands are present and accounted for, so scroll on to … Read the rest
Do you ever find yourself 15 pages deep into an Amazon search, reading product reviews with such intensity that you feel like you know the people writing them? Because I sure have. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve gone into a rabbit hole of reviews on Amazon, and let’s face it, it won’t be the last. Haters will say it’s a waste of time, but to them, I simply show off my well-curated shopping cart, which is now full of prospective purchases that feel satisfying because of how well-researched they are.
Well, on a recent such virtual shopping trip, I focused my attention on swimsuits. And boy, do I have some excellent finds to share with you here. Swimsuit season is almost here, and even if it means I’ll be sporting mine in my backyard, I’m still just as excited to add a few new styles to my wardrobe. … Read the rest
Welcome to This or That, a series where two Who What Wear editors go head-to-head on the biggest trends and make the case for all the It items they’re currently coveting.
Summer, without a question, will always be the most exciting season for shopping. I get to wear all my favorites—breezy dresses, sandals that show off my pedicure, and crop tops. But what makes me most giddy? Swimwear. My fiancé thinks I have enough bikinis, one-pieces, and cover-ups to last me a lifetime, but he doesn’t get it—one can never have too many.
Listen: My just-as-obsessed co-workers agree with me. I was chatting with my boss, Caitie Schlisserman, about all things summer fashion, and naturally, swimwear came up. We found out that, for one, we gravitate toward different things when finding a suit that will work for us and, secondly, that H&M is the first place both of us look … Read the rest
Does shopping suddenly feel overwhelming? I, for one, bought far less clothing and accessories over the past year. So it’s not that I forgot how to shop per se—it’s just that I forgot how to reign it in and curate my wish list down to only the essentials. I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t need every single new item just because I have actual plans to leave my apartment on a regular basis now. (Shocker, I know!) Rather, all I need are the key pieces that I can wear with items I already own.
Take sunglasses, for example: They’re not only necessary (I live in Los Angeles after all); they’re also an accessory that can instantly take an outfit to the next level. I’ve got my eyes on the latest Millie Bobby Brown x Vogue Eyewear collection filled with all the best eyewear trends. At first, I wondered … Read the rest
Welcome to On the Hunt,a series where we reveal our latest affordable finds at Walmart. From wardrobe staples and trendy accessories to the best in home décor and beauty, expect to find exceptional items at even more impressive prices.
Look: I love being a fashion editor and keeping up with the trends. I really do. But I would be lying if I said that it didn’t get expensive. Styles are coming and going in waves, and my bank account simply cannot keep up. With extremely cute items bubbling up on the scene right now—tops with ruched detailing, flatforms, dressed-up matching sets (see you later, sweats), and puff sleeves, to name a few—I’ve been searching for spots where I can snag them all for prices that don’t make my wallet cringe.
While on my mission to find high-fashion trends on a low budget, I hit up Ellenor Kim, whose … Read the rest
My hair has recently reached that awkward in-between length: it’s no longer the mid-length lob that I visited the hairdressers for last year but it can’t quite be considered a long hairstyle yet. Instead, it’s sitting rather uninspiringly on my shoulders causing me to seriously consider going for the chop. I’ve experimented with shorter hairstyles over the years but have never taken the plunge into a full-on bob.
However, with my Instagram feed starting to fill up with dramatic, post-lockdown haircuts, I have to admit that I’m seriously tempted to forgo my lengths in favor of something shorter, choppier, and infinitely cooler. And a quick look online confirmed that the bob might just be the hairstyle of 2021. From Fearne Cotton to Lily James, so many celebrities have undergone major short hair transformations over the last year, and their styles look seriously amazing.
Recently, there’s been a lot of talk about dressing joyfully, and I’ve been very much on board with this sentiment. After over a year of pretty much being on lockdown and wearing joggers, it’s only natural that we’re gravitating towards bright pops of colors and fun patterns to remerge as social butterflies for dinners, brunches and the bar. But we shouldn’t overlook those basics that continue to make up the staple of our wardrobes—joy can be found under many guises. We know from our own intel at Who What Wear that the pieces that tend to sell the best are basics such as white tees, black dresses and vest tops, arguably the bread and butter of our summer wardrobes.
I turned to five of my favorite people to follow on IG who are well known for their more pared-back wardrobes. Each one has their own distinct style, but the key … Read the rest
First of all, let me speak to the elephant in the room. At age 41, I am still young with healthy skin (thanks to a stringent routine of cleansing, toning, treating, moisturizing, and sunscreening since age 14), and quite honestly, I feel better in my skin than I ever have. But there’s no denying the collagen depletion and bone loss that comes with age. Yes, that’s right! Apparently, bone mass peaks around ages 25–30 years and declines gradually thereafter in both men and women. Yay!
This is why I started having fillers at around age 37 (you can read my previous articles where I wax lyrical about liquid facialsand lip fillers). Now that I’m entering my 40s, I wanted to try something that didn’t just fill the depleted areas but actually helped my own body generate its own collagen over time. Enter: thread lifts. I first heard about … Read the rest
Bikinis hold a special place in my heart. Swimwear was the very first market I was assigned to edit when I became a fashion editor, and now, after years of discovering the latest trends, meeting designers, and working on photo shoots, I’ve become quite the bikini expert. From retro maillots and barely there bikinis to swim skirts and the return of the low rise, I’ve seen and tried them all. Thus, my Instagram has become a true testament to my ongoing love affair with bikinis.
We are inundated with bikini styles, colors, patterns, and fabrics to choose from (not a terrible situation), and it can be challenging to filter through and find the silhouettes that work best for you. Even though I have bins overflowing with every single bikini style you can imagine, I tend to remain loyal to the same six styles that are flattering and, of … Read the rest
Swimsuit season is in full effect, which means all the string bikinis, sandals, and day-long beach trips your heart can desire (and you’re SPF can handle). Getting to the pool, beach, or wherever you’re heading to is the easy part, but shopping for the perfect suit is a little bit more complicated.
There’s a multitude of swimwear styles out there, but we all have different levels of comfort. Whether you’re a barely-there, controversial bikini trend type of person, or like to be a little more modest, shopping for swimwear proves even more difficult when curves enter the equation. Let’s be honest: a lot of swimwear brands wrongly don’t design their suits with voluptuous bodies in mind, so if you’re curvy like me, you learn to keep a discerning eye on which brands will fit the bill. After some thorough research (aka revisiting a few of my favorite curvy influencers) and … Read the rest
