When I was growing up, there was one divisive dressing choice that was often considered an “outfit mistake”—wearing socks with sandals. It’s to note that wearing white socks with black dress shoes was also considered a “no” for many, although I love that vibe now. And the same goes for socks and sandals. While some may not be as into the look, I think the silhouette is quite chic. I also fully believe in wearing whatever you love, no matter what anyone thinks, so for me, going for socks and sandals is where it’s at.
I’ve actually been opting into the look for the last few years, and I’ve started going for it even more recently as the finishing touch to my loungewear silhouettes. For the most part, I’ve been going for white tube socks (typically Nike or Hanes) with either my Birkenstocks or Adidas slides. And I’m not … Read the rest
If I had to put a number on it, I’d say I’ve tested upwards of 50 moisturizers in the last few years. What can I say? I’m a sucker for best sellers, anything with hyaluronic acid, and the latest technology-packed products. So I like to think that I’ve seen and tried my fair share of options, some of which have become permanent fixtures in my routine, while the majority are usually cycled out after a few months. But last month I got my hands on the new StriVectin Wrinkle Recode™ Moisture Rich Barrier Cream, and little did I know that my skin would be blessed with one of the very best face creams it has ever tried.
This fresh-smelling tub of cream is thick but absorbs really fast, always leaving my face with a subtle dewy glow. I swear it only took a few days of using it morning … Read the rest

Designer clothing and designer jeans are manufactured by high-end fashion designers, high-street stores and independent designer boutiques. The most common types of material used in making a surfer necklace are hemp, leather, and waxed cord. While hemp is the most popular and very durable it is not the most comfortable to wear, especially at first. The good news is hemp is relatively cheap a looks great. Leather on the other hand is also commonly used, but does not usually give that natural appeal that other materials such as hemp and waxed cord give. Waxed cord is one of the best types of necklaces to choose for a surf necklace because not only does it look very similar to hemp, but is very comfortable and will not hurt your neck like hemp might until it gets broke in. Most of the cords are made from high quality material, and sometimes even … Read the rest
When shopping, do you ever come across or try on an item that you suspect may look cheap but can’t quite put your finger on why? Well, today I’m here to help you not only decode why an item may look less than worthy of its price tag but also avoid accidentally purchasing such pieces only to later regret it. To see my full list, read about all seven of the characteristics to look out for, and do a little editor-approved shopping along the … Read the rest
Moda Operandi has reported a 30% increase in the popularity of bras for SS21 and found they were featured in 10% of all trunk shows (new collection previews and pre-sales), compared to 3% in the previous season. The big question is, how does one style a bra top? “The … Read the rest
If there’s anything I’m very strict about when it comes to my beauty routine, it’s my body lotion. I might forget a step in my nighttime skincare routine, but I never forget to put body lotion on after I shower or in the mornings, even I don’t shower. For the most part, it’s paid off. Aside from the occasional eczema flare-up on my hands, arms, or neck, I have pretty smooth skin.
But since I’m a curious person and like to question everything, I wanted to know if there were some things I was missing when it comes to body-lotion application. So I reached out to dermatologist Naissan O. Wesley, MD, FACMS, of Skin Care and Laser Physicians of Beverly Hills to get her tips and to see what role body lotions play in reducing premature aging or the signs of aging. Because you’ve always got … Read the rest
There is nothing quite like living in swimsuit season all year round. I recently relocated to Miami from New York, and I have to admit, I often find myself reflecting on why I didn’t make the move sooner. From discovering emerging swimwear designers to wear-testing the latest trends, I am undoubtedly bikini-obsessed. After being an editor in the swimwear industry for over six years, fully immersing myself in the world of swim, at times, it feels like I have truly seen it all. However, I am pleasantly proven wrong season after season as swim takes on new silhouettes (sometimes rather shocking ones), innovative printing techniques, and rare fabrications.
In 2021, beloved swimwear trends are getting a much-needed makeover—think sophisticated animal prints and soft-to-touch comforting fabrics. There is something about swim that instantly elevates your mood, perhaps because they symbolize warm summer days or nostalgic vacation memories. … Read the rest

I’m really sorry to say it, but when it comes to our body, time takes its toll on just about all of it. And although we know all too well what aging does to our skin, when it comes to other areas of our beauty regimens, age is rarely factored in. From swapping in serums that tackle fine lines and wrinkles to acid treatments that work against age spots and pigmentation, products that cater to aging skin seem to be everywhere.
But what about our hair? It turns out that besides going gray, aging can affect our hair in a number of ways. From thinning to dryness, the ways in which our hair deals with getting older means that as time goes by, we may need to change up our routines. And one of the most effective ways we can do that is by trying out a new … Read the rest
